Approach

Modalities

As humans, we inevitably endure challenges. As a trauma-informed therapist, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment-Based Therapy. Each of these approaches, combined with somatic and mindfulness based interventions, allow clients to recognize learned coping strategies that no longer serve them and develop new skills to manage life’s challenges. In addition, we will work to identify triggers, navigate unprocessed trauma, and gain a greater sense of self.

Biopsychosocial–Spiritual Perspective

I believe that healing requires a holistic perspective. In other words, healing requires consideration of a person as a whole being - biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. Practically, this might look like utilizing somatic interventions like breath work and body scanning to connect with the body and consider its role in healing. It may also involve journaling or utilizing spiritual or social support as a resource. Treatment plans are developed with each individual and their own personal story in mind.

Evidence-Based

As a professional counselor, I see it as my responsibility to regularly evaluate techniques and interventions utilized in the counseling room. Because of this, I consistently seek research and scientific studies that offer empirical data validating the effectiveness of tools offered to clients. In practice, I strive to offer practical and vetted interventions.
